Air Ambulance
The Air Ambulance carries a full range of life saving medical equipment and two fully qualified paramedics, who are supported on a regular basis by a small team of dedicated doctors.
The helicopter is operated in daylight hours, seven days per week, 365 days per year, based at RAF Benson, Oxfordshire, which is the central point for the three counties TVACAA serves.
It can transport one patient with the ability to treat and care in the air and has the provision for two stretchers in the case of an extreme medical emergency.
The Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust is a registered charity whose sole function is to raise the funds required to keep the helicopter flying. www.tvacaa.org/index.php
Each mission flown costs approximately £2,000 with an average of 3 missions per day. The Charity is not involved in tasking the helicopter or in its operation. It works in partnership with two other organisations:

Reading Abbey Rotary Club
Organisers of the race in conjunction with Tadley Runners, it is a club of over 40 business and professional people, working and retired, who meet socially to enjoy themselves and work together to help others.

Tadley Runners
A small, friendly North Hants club for runners of all abilities that meets twice a week on Monday and Wednesday evenings at Hurst Leisure Centre. There are a normally a range of different distances and pace at these club sessions.

Englefield Estate
The house is private but the gardens are open to the public Monday to Thursday, April to October (£3, children free). The estate includes Englefield Village where there's a garden centre and a village shop and tea room.
